Sending students to Overseas Camps is linked to the country's Human Resource Development agenda. The country's demand for specialized types of human capital which cannot be satisfied through local development could be satisfied by sending Maldivian students to overseas colleges or universities.
PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS DEVELOPMENT: There is an immediate demand for primary and secondary school teachers in the Maldives. To satisfy this demand, we have signed an agreement with Consolidated Investments Corporation of the Maldives. This agreement authorizes Hamel Martel-Quant Analysis Research to engage the services of a Canadian university to admit a number of Maldivian students into the Faculty of Education for programs that will prepare the students for teaching positions in the Maldives Ministry of Education System.
UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA: As the result of discussions between Hamel Martel-Quant Analysis Research and Consolidated Investments, followed by the agreement signed between the two parties, the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada, has agreed to admit fifteen Maldivian students each year for the next four years into the Faculty of Education, commencing from 2000-2001 academic year.
MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY: We have also had discussions with Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, for additional support should the need arise.
Evidence of the transactions between the two universities and Hamel Martel-Quant Analysis Research are presented in Exhibit One and Exhibit Two.
